Redmi Note 8 is launched on 29^th August, 2019,whereas Realme 5 release date was couple of days before Redmi Note 8, that is 20^th August, 2019. There are some similarities between these two; both phones use Gorilla Glass for protection. Both uses octa-core processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 with Android 9 Pie and supports expandable storage. Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 has 3 variants first one is 64GB internal storage with 4GB RAM, second has 64GB internal storage with 6GB RAM and third has 128GB internal storage with 6GB RAM, it supports expandable storage up to 512 GB.

However,Realme 5 also has 3 variants first is32GB internal storage with 3GB RAM, second has 64GB internal storage with 4GB RAM and third has 128GB internal storage with 4GB RAM. It also supports expandable storage up to 256 GB.

It all depends on what variant you have purchased but Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 has more RAM than Realme 5. Redmi Note 8 is faster thus, it is excellent for gaming purpose.

Camera:

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8: Quad rear cameras (48 MP, 8 MP, 2 MP, and 2 MP) with 13 MP front camera.

Realme 5:Quad rear cameras (12 MP, 8 MP, 2 MP, and 2 MP) with 13 MP front camera.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 has four back cameras 48 Mega Pixel, 8 Mega Pixel, 2 Mega Pixel, and again 2 Mega Pixel with 13 Mega Pixel front camera. Realme 5 has also four back cameras 12 Mega Pixel, 8 Mega Pixel, 2 Mega Pixel and 2 Mega Pixel with 13 Mega Pixel front camera. Both phones have rear flash and rear auto focus.

Redmi Note 8 has a better rear camera as compared to Redmi Note 8 but front cameras of both phones are same.

Conclusion:

Realme 5 is larger, bit heavier, larger display and long battery life as compared to Redmi Note 8. But this Realme 5 is not suitable for photographers because it has maximum of 12 Mega Pixel rear camera. It is also not ideal for gamers as it has low RAM. Whereas, Redmi Note 8 is faster, perfect for gamers and a good choice for photographers as well. It has maximum 48 Mega Pixel back camera.
